I am being tortured by my daughter who is 21 as I am a single mother and with no emotional and moral support. I stop her from going late night to parties and with guys and in retaliation she shouts at me and mentally I remain very disturbed. I am already on Epilex chrono 200 mg and rivotril 2 mg to be taken twice a day. Please help.

Respected lybrate-user Ma'am, I understand your condition. We need to talk to you and your daughter and plan a treatment accordingly. You and your daughter need counselling along with medicine. Tab Rivotril 4 mg a day is too high dose. I would recommend you to consult psychiatrist for the same. Ma'am its not your being a single mother that your daughter having such behaviour. Your daughter behaviour can be part of personality disorder or just her personality. We need to look in it. You will get satisfactory results ma'am. All d best!

Dear Mam, As per your circumstances, the child sometimes takes advantage of the situation not realizing the outcome of such acts. Since you have tried speaking and the child is not taking it seriously, it is best to take help of a common friend or relative (whom your daughter also trust) and to sit together and resolve this situation. Incase that is also not helpful, then take the services of a Psychologist who specialises in Family Therapy to help resolve the issue.
