My mother 's Thyroid ultra sensitive tsh level is 28.33, she is 58 year old, please suggest me is this very emergency case? And what should I do in such case.

Mr. lybrate-user, TSH level of 28.23 mU/L, shows she has hypothyroidism. This needs to be treated with thyroxine tablets. Because her thyroid gland is not producing the hormone in her body. Unless immediate supplementation started, and adequate hormone is given, she may have serious consequences because of deficiency. From that point of view it is urgent. If not treated there may be weight gain, slow heart rate, intolerance to cold, joint and muscle pains, mood swings, swelling of face and lower limbs, anxiety, depression, dry skin, dry hair and hair fall etc. Hence it is better to start the treatment right away.
