I am a patient of OCD initial symptoms frequently hand washing, throw cooked food to bin in thought of having worm in it, after meals vomiting forcefully putting fingers inside the throat, feeling insecure about beloved ones, burst of anger. Treated with fluvoxamine 50-0-100 mg and clonazepam. 5 mg. Taking the medication for 1 and half year. OCD thoughts decreased 80% but various more complication arises. Main whenever going to bed feel JERK in legs, not able to sleep due to jerks and restlessness of legs, panic, increased heart beat. Started with sleeping pills but no effect on jerks. My life has become hell due to these jerks. Please advice me. Regular medication on fluvoxamine 100-0-100. clonazepam. 25 MG sos.

Dear lybrate-user, Nice to know that you are 80 free from OCD thoughts. You have to take few side effects if you want to enjoy the benefits of Fluvoxamine. Please let me know what is the sleeping pill and its dose that you have tried. There are treatments for jerks and restless legs. Please consult the psychiatrist for the same. She/he will be able to prescribe. In the meanwhile why don't you try clonazepam regularly instead of sos?

These jerks are called myoclonic jerks due to fluvoxamine mostly. There are easy ways to treat them. Consult your psychiatrist. All the best.
