Hello Sir, Both rice and potatoes have carbohydrates. So if you want to have potatoes with rice or roti, you must reduce the quantity of rice/roti so that the overall total amount of carbohydrates consumed remains the same. You can consume a small bowl of rice. Your carbohydrates should be about 1/4th of your plate (carbohydrates include rice/roti/chapati/phulka/idli/dosa/upma, potatoes, colocasia, yam), half of your plate should be of vegetables and rest 1/4 of your plate should be made of protein ( includes dals or pulses, eggs, non vegetarian food ) and fat.
