Hi, I have Diabetes Type 2. I've been using Sugamet or Glycomet earlier but from last month I switched to to herbal medicine but it doesn't work. My random blood sugar checked an hour ago was 213. Hence please advice me which medicine should I use and its dosage. ThanksBharat Bhushan Wadhwa.

Mr. lybrate-user, For effective treatment of diabetes one has to either take oral antidiabetic drugs or Insulin injections or both. Otherwise, no other drugs (ayurvedic. Herbal or homeopathic), really help. Some of them even claim that they can cure diabetes. Which is absolutely false claim. If you are serious in controlling the condition then will have to restart with modern medicine drugs, plus diet control and regular exercise, then only it is possible to control it. In this communication we are supposed to give only general guidelines, but no prescriptions. So it will be better if you come in a private consultation with following details: Fasting & PP blood glucose levels (current), HbA1c%, dietary pattern, extent of daily exercise and details of any drugs being taken with dosage.
