Hi lybrate-user. There is no need to worry unless your extraction wound has been infected. The pain is due to the bone cutting which might have been done during the procedure. Or a bony spicule created during extraction which is impinging on your gums bt the chances of this possibillity are realatively less. Bt you wud hv noticed that the intensity of the pain you r feeling have been reducing and not eliminated totally. I wud take some time. Bt I wud advise you to go to your doctor for a complete examination of the affected area for a second opinion. Use the warm saline rinses and keeo the area as clean as possible so as to intensify the healing rate. Once the wound healing is complete you can do regular chewing from that side bt till then avoid putting? extra pressure at the site.

A difficult extraction may lead to your said problem. It will take one or two weeks to subside your cheek or other tooth pain. You can continue to take pain killers for the same. In between you can choose to eat soft food from extracted side. After sometime you can slowly resume to hard food chewing from that side. Thank you.
