Glaucoma is symptomatic ophthalmic disease of increase intraocular tension. Intraocular tension can be controlled by the either antiglaucoma medication or surgical procedure (trabeculectomy, if medical treatment is not responding adequately. Goal of glaucoma treatments is to prevent visual loss. Either conservatively or surgical treatments/ valve implantation. You may send your previous treatments paper so that further management could be suggested.

If your eye pressure is controlled with drugs and if you can regularly take the drug and monitor your eye pressure periodically, no need for surgery now.
