It is required to increase your night dose of medicine for control of fasting sugar level. You need to consult diabetologist for that but before that small dietary changes and some moderate exercise will also help to control your high fasting blood sugar level. 1. A small walk of 15-20 mins after dinner will help to control fasting sugar level. 2. Decreasing simple carbs like rice etc at dinner along with limiting quantity of meal at dinner time will also help in reducing fasting blood sugar levels.(portion size of meal)

I would rather change his medications to a long acting gliclazide metformin combating together with a Dpp4 inhibitor also. The reason is a poor HBAIC of 7.5 with the present drug .diet and regular excercise goes without saying in all diabetics and a dietician advise is recommmended.
