I am 35 years old male and I had taking thyrox 100 mcg last 5 years but nowadays I have problem with gases and goes to latrine 4 to 5 times a day then what should I do? I had used dose of thyrox 100 mcg to 50 mcg?

Mr. lybrate-user, Thanks for the query. If yu are on treatment for hypothyroidism (100 mcg Thyroxine), then best way to judge whether treatment is adequate or not is to check TSH level, it should be maintained between 3 to 4 mU/L. With that most of the symptoms will be in check So whether to reduce or change the dose can only be answered by looking at TSH level. As regards the other complaints those could be related to indigestion. Please increase the water intake and also do regular exercise, which will help in better digestion. Most important is to control hypothyroidism well. Thanks.
