Hello sir /madam I am suffering from thyroid since 3 months. May weight month by month gain. And also hair loss. My antibodies test range is 196.12 and TSH VALUE 7.70. please tell me how to cure.

Hello, Thanks for the query. If hypothyroidism is present, then adequate dose of Thyroxine hormone has to be taken to control all the symptoms of the disease. When on treatment TSH should be maintained between 3 to 4 mU/L, then only all the symptoms can be in check. Even the efforts to reduce weight do not show results if TSH levels are high. Only method is to take adequate dose of thyroxine and keep checking TSH level initially after about 8 weeks to see if the dosage is adequate. Thanks.
