We prefer weaning after six months of age. Weaning food must consist of freshly prepared home food that family eats. It should be properly mashed and made liquid to start with. E.g. Khir, rice, dal, khichadi, curd etc. It takes time (days) for child to develop the taste so be patient. You should start giving the food which you like them to eat lifelong. Because habits die hard.

Give different types of food prepared at home including milk and its products. Baby want change of taste. Don't force to eat. Give him on demand.
