Hello. My mother is suffering from Thyroid with TSH= 12.0. What kind of problem is this? Is it possible to completely cure this problem? Or lifetime medications?

TSH 12 is suggestive of hypothyroidism, means her body is producing less thyroid hormone than norma. Thyroid hormone is required for normal metabolic function of body. It can be controlled easily with thyroid hormone given in tab. Form as advised by your Physician. Dose is adjusted with TSH estimation at regular intervals.
