I am suffering from high tsh level thyroid last eight months taking tablet eltroxin 75 mcg it's comes down 16 to 7.13. Kiya mujhe life time ye tablet khane hogi?

Mr. lybrate-user, Thanks for the query. Hypothyroidism is a thyroxine hormone deficiency disease. This hormone is needed for every day functioning of the various metabolic activities in the body. Hence it has to be supplemented every day that to for lifetime. When on treatment with thyroxine TSH should be maintained between 3 to4 mU/L, then only one is free from all the symptoms of hypothyroidism. TSH 7.13 mU/L is high. It should come down to values mentioned above. So the dose of thyroxine has to increase. Thanks.
