My mother is suffering from schizoaffective disorder. She is into medications but her condition has worsen after taking medicines. She has gone into depression. Doctor has said to continue the medicines. Is this normal? Do this medicines has side effects? If yes how to cope up with the side effects. My mother is not willing to take the medicines anymore.

The medication rexipra is an antidepressant, and the prescription seems to be revised for making your mom come out of depression. Rather than her condition worsening after medication, it seems the illness is increasing in severity and the present medication is not helping, also it take few weeks to bring the symptoms to remission, if in doubt get a 2nd opinion from any other psychiatrist.
