My mother is 65 year old she is suffering from diabetes last 7 years, last 2 year she is suffering from the mouth ulcer, which is not curable by Dr. She is running continuously from pain last two years, please suggest me some medicine or some appropriate way which cure her mouth ulcer.

But in a patient with diabetes the healing of ulcers us always delayed .but as she is suffering from ulcers which is not curable since last 2 years it's a matter of concern. Ulcers may occur because of factors such as stress. Or continues trauma to a given region .by a denture if she has one. Or by continuous biting in the same region. Or may be is she has a broken tooth. I would advise you to check the region nearby for the above mentioned factors. Plus I would advise vitamin bcomplex .a healthy diet with lots of fresh veggies and a few citrus fruits. Ask you mother to apply a local anesthetic gel in the given region before she has meals. Hello, Thanks for the question. Aphthous ulcer are usually very chronic and at times difficult to treat. SInce the patient is diabetic it is absolutely essential that her blood glucose is very well controlled with FBG <100 mg, PP 160 to 170 mg & HbA1c%<7. As you have stated, many doctors have been consulted for the mouth ulcer problem, I am sure all the standard measures have been already tried. So in such a situation I will hardly have any new treatment available. Still I am suggesting that she should use a topical steroid application to the ulcer. Then also use chlorhrxidine mouth wash and Benzidamine oral rins also. These measures help in healing the ulcer. Thanks.
