This is a compulsive behavior and comes from a nervous disposition where fear plays a very important role. This fear may have its roots from childhood depending on how long and how intense the problem is. It is intense is clear and so do check with your parents about your developmental history to locate where exactly the fear originated. Then equipped with this meet with a counselor and if that person recommends you meet with a doctor you will need to do so too. The primary goal is to help you handle the fear, and help you express your fear in appropriate ways. You can in the meantime use a simple measure to prevent the problem but not necessarily to solve it: wear woolen gloves and they will not provide you any grip to pull out the hair. You are in control of your hand: it does not go to the moustache on its own. Take one day at a time and reward yourself every day you succeed.
