My baby recovered from sepsis on 3rd days of born due to bacterial infection by vancomycin .he is now 1.5 month & is o.k.,received pcv13 & one doctor says not to take PENTA1 vaccine. Only to take hexaxim. But doctor who treated him earlier says yes. Now I am confused. Please suggest me which one is to take?

Hexaxim is a vaccine which has Diphtheria, tetanus, acellular pertussis, (DTaP), Polio, HIB and Hepatitis B components. If cost is not an issue it is a good choice. Otherwise many choices are available without injectable polio vaccine. That is fine too. You can give oral polio vaccine and Pentvac, Easyfive etc. This is half the cost and equally effective. These also contain DPT, HIB and Hepatitis B minus injectable polio.
