Thanks for your query. Malaria is a life-threatening blood disease caused by parasites transmitted to humans through the bite of the Anopheles mosquito. Malaria symptoms can be classified in two categories: uncomplicated and severe malaria. Uncomplicated malaria- Sensation of cold, shivering Fever, headaches, and vomiting (fits sometimes occur in young children) Sweats followed by a return to normal temperature, with tiredness. Severe malaria- Fever and chills Loss of conciousness Multiple fits Deep breathing and difficulty in breathing Abnormal bleeding Clinical jaundice and evidence of vital organ dysfunction. Treatment- The most effective treatment for Malaria is the use of artemisinins in combination with other antimalarials. These additional antimalarials include: amodiaquine, lumefantrine, mefloquine or sulfadoxine/pyrimethamine. Another recommended combination is dihydroartemisinin and piperaquine.
