My mother, age 60, is suffering from lumber spondylosis. Should she go for traction to relieve the pain. Or traction can worsen the situation. Kindly advice?

Without an MRI to rule out nerve compression I would not advise traction. Traction works for muscle strains and helps by relieving that spasm. The treatment for spondylosis is back strengthening exercises.
