My friend is having severe pain in the back. Initially he used to complain about his foot then thighs and now his back pains. It does not happen regularly but occasionally and is really painful too.

If the pain is in the back and is radiating to the leg or to the foot it's due to nerve impingement due to disc also known as sciatica. U need to improve your posture avoid lifting heavy objects. Don't exert too much in activity take rest in between. For pain relief take hot formentation and analgesics once pain settles start with back strengthening exercise. If the complaint is chronic need to get an mri to know the underlying cause. Hope this information is helpful for further assistance can contact.
