Am having depression for past 4 yrs, as by doctors advice took riscon tablets from 5 mg now reduced to 0.5 mg. I was 47 kg before using this tablets, as doctor said I will gain weight taking riscon. Doctor has advices to stop those tablets. My question is do I come back to my normal weight as before?

Dear lybrate-user, Riscon is Risperidone. It is not available as 5 mg tablet. Of course riscon increases weight. You need to do dieting and exercise to avoid weight gain. Just stopping riscon alone may not reduce your weight to 47 kg. Consult a dietician. If doctor has adviced to stop those tablets, prepare yourself for a relapse and restart the tablets.
