Dear lybrate-user, This oral condition that your uncle is suffering from is Dry mouth or xerostomia which is caused due to damage to the salivary glands, the glands that make saliva, can reduce the amount of saliva produced. This could stem from radiation to the head and neck, and chemotherapy treatments. An artificial saliva substitute can be used and plenty of fluids should be taken.

Your uncle is suffering from radiation induced dryness of mouth (xerostomia) and ulceration due to obliteration of blood vessels (endarteritis obliterens). So you can provide him glycerine based oral gel for dryness and ulcer protective gel (dologel CT, Orasore gel, Rexidine M-forte gel etc). Hope it will help you. THANK YOU.
