Hello. I was suffering from severe anxiety problem from last 3 yrs. And I did not knew it. When I come to know that this is anxiety, I consulted a psychiatrist and was on medicine from last 4 months. Now I recovered a lot from condition. But still heart race is the. Sometime I feel like shaking head. please suggest me should I go to doc for treatment or slowly it will also improve. I do regular walk and exercise. I also lost my weight .please help.

Hie. lybrate-user Please yo should go and consult any Psychiatrist for this. And side by side you can try all these things. The most important thing to remember is that you will be OK. I suffer from many anxiety disorders and I will tell you what works for me (everyone is different so you may need to tweak it for your individual needs): Sit down (doesn't matter where you are but sit down) and close your eyes (if you feel comfortable doing so). Try this breathing exercise, it always clears my mind and calms me down, even if only for a short amount of time: breath in through your nose for four seconds, hold your breath for eight seconds, then breathe out slowly for seven seconds. While repeating this breathing excersise, I try to actively tell myself to systematically relax each part of my body (it may or may not work, but it will keep you distracted so you don't think about what is causing your anxiety) beginning with my feet and moving up my body until I reach the top of my head. Drink a glass of water, or two, but slowly and in small sips. Stand up and tell yourself that you can face whatever is causing your anxiety and know that you now have a tool you can use at any time to help you cope with your anxiety. Thank You.
