Currently I am taking eltroxin o.75 mg for thyroid. Today I did blood test and my tsh is 0.61. Should I continue with same medicine or I need to take another medicine. Also, I am having extremely hair fall. Is it due to thyroid? Please suggest.

lybrate-user, Thanks for the query. Hair fall is one of the most often seen symptoms of hypothyroidism. Controlling TSH levels <3 mU/L, is essential to remain free from symptoms of that condition. With TSH 0.61 mU/L, you have brought it under control. But of all the symptoms hair fall takes long time to get corrected. So you may continue with same dosage (75 mcg/day) and check TSH after another 6 weeks and the level is same (0.61 mU/L), then may consider lowering the dose. Thanks.
