I am sure the concerned doctor has advised about the surgery after going through all the options of treating hyperthyroidism and based on the severity of the symptoms. It is always good to follow the advise of the trating doctor. You may consult another endocrinologist for second opinion with all the relevant case papers and investigation details. It is difficult give any opinion without actually seeing the details as well as the patient. Even after surgery, getting pregnancy is quite possible, because the patient has to be put on ;evothyroxine for lifetime. Thanks.
