I am type 1 diabetic and using nova rapid three times and landis bed time. I want to know why landis needs if nova rapid Can control after meals level. And pls tell me if any treatment comes alternative to Insulin.

The very fact that you have been advised multiple doses of short acting insulin plus a long acting one, means you have fairly high and uncontrolled blood glucose. In such situation Insulin is the only remedy. Lantus is a long acting insulin. It remains in the blood for over 18 to 20 hours and helps maintain a lower level of glucose during 24 hour period. Short acting insulin is given to control after food rise in blood glucose. There are many oral antidiabetic drugs, which are useful in controlling blood glucose but in your case those would not work as your pancreas is unable to produce any insulin. Hence you need supplement on daily basis. Thanks.
