Diastolic dysfunction is manly found due to BP and age related changes in the elasticity of heart tissue. Grade 1 diastolic dysfunction is a very common finding in normal adults with long standing slight blood pressure and in people above 50 years of age, so there is nothing to panic about. All You need to do is ensure a good BP control so that Diastolic dysfunction doesn't progress further. Your target BP should be less than 140/90 mm Hg with medications and lifestyle measures, if your BP is already well controlled then continue with your medications and dont worry.
