Hi lybrate-user OCD is one of the most difficult conditions to live with, and I'm sorry to know that you've been suffering for the past 6 years. Its unfortunate that you psychiatrist has been unable to help. I am not sure what course of treatment is being provided as there is no mention of it in the question. However, please know that OCD, even the most severe form can be treated with psychotherapy/ counselling. If you aren't in therapy yet, please contact a qualified psychologist, who would be able to help you. Additionally, there is a book called Brain Lock, which some people find very helpful in understanding and addressing OCD. That said, the book alone is not sufficient, and it might be the most helpful for you to make an appointment with a psychologist who has adequate training and qualifications to help you.
