I suffer from high blood but my pressure rises in sleep and it goes up to 170/100 I am taking metpure xl 25 once a day .during day it is normal no matter how much I work or take tension but it rises at night in sleep.

1) Normally BP falls during sleep, it is unusual that it rises 2) Better and more potent drugs are available as first line antihypertensives than met-xl. 3) Please consult a cardiologist for detailed evaluation including, echo and ecg to rule out any reason for this increase of BP at night and also for change of your treatment. Please ensure that you do not smoke, drink and decrease your daily caffeine intake and avoid drinking coffee before sleeping. Also exercise everyday for 40 mins like brisk walking and eat a healthy diet with salt restriction.
