Mr. lybrate-user, Thanks for the query. Main cause for diabetes is the insulin deficiency, plus insulin resistance. In addition family history of diabetes, being overweight and inactivity. Diabetes can only be well controlled with appropriate treatment. There are many oral anti-diabetic drugs plus there is insulin. Depending upon the need of the patients drugs are decided. Along with drugs, one has to take a restricted diet and also exercise regularly for over 1 hour every day. That helps in controlling blood glucose. There is no cure. Treatment is for lifetime.
