My diabetic medicine Metformin 500 mg tid was recently changed to sitagliptin phosphate & Metformin HCL 50/500 mg (Janumet) tid. What does it mean? Is my diabetes advancing to next higher level? Should I be managing my diabetes more intensively. Was I managing my diet unsatisfactory that it resulted in change in medication.

It is very likely to progress in diabetes in many patients despite good dietary control. You should exercise and still strict on healthy diabetic diet. May be you'll improve over time. Sitagliptin is a good drug to add. Thank you.
