Hello, Thanks for the query. In diabetic patients if the disease is of long standing duration, then one of the problem that develops is constipation. To overcome that one has to consume more of green leafy vegetables, salads and fruits. Plus always use whole grain flour for roti and chapat as it contains fiber. Take either fenugreek seeds as roasted or in powdered form about 10 g three times a day, before meal or flax seeds in similar quantity. These help in bowel movements and also reduce blood glucose levels. Drink enough liquid. Develop a healthy habit of visiting the toilet as soon as signal is noticed. Taking laxatives like cremaffin or lactulose containing preparations does help. Thanks.
