Your child need more care. Parents need counselling. There may be some developmental errors/abnormality/ habits which can lead to other visible behavioural changes. Please visit a pedodontist / oral medicine specialist for exact finding of the cause. Preventing it to an early stage will be beneficial in long term. Using night guard at this stage can be helpful but recommended only after specialist's advice.

Teeth grinding during night sleep is a type of disorder in which many things are put forward. Take him to a dentist and he will give you a night guard which will protect his teeth from grinding and wear and tear. Also find out if he is having any worm infestation, anal itch etc. You may also show him to a pediatrician and deworm him every six months.

Others do it as a response to pain, such as from an earache or teething. Kids might grind their teeth as a way to ease the pain, just as they might rub a sore muscle. Many kids outgrow these fairly common causes for grinding. Stress ? usually nervous tension or anger ? is another cause. Kindly visit dentist for the same.
