Hello doctor. My age is 35. I have delivered a baby boy on 26 Aug, 4 months old now and on breastfeeding. I have abdominal pain once or twice in a month for which sonography was done. It diagnosed of having gall bladder stones 4 to 5. With the largest one of about 7 mm. Please let me know if I need to perform bladder removal surgery. Will it stop breast milk. Can the stones be dissolved by medications. Please let me know?

Stones cannot be dissolved by medication. Smallerr stones can pass through the pipe and obstruct it. Usually if the stone do not cause problem the no need to remove. But they are causing you pain and also they are mu; ltiple and small you need to see gastroenterologist.

Gallstones do not dissolve by any medication, therefore surgery is the only answer. Lactation will not be disturbed by surgery which is done by Laparoscopic (Key hole) technique, so you will need to be in hospital only for one and half day.
