My son aged 3 years and 3 months with height of 92 cm and weight of 14.5 kg send weaker than other kids of the same age. He gets tired easily and starts weeping to lift him up. He was having rickets with only frontal bossing and pigeon chest which was treated and looks normal now. He often complains of abdominal pain after taking food. He had received albendazole some months back. He eats less and if not given won't bother to eat. Please suggest.

One by one 1-His weight and height for age is appropriate so you should not worry about his appetite. 2-Ultrasound is desirable to rule out any organic pathology. I am reasonally sure the ultrasound should be normal. It shall help allay your anxiety. Do not give him junk food which will kill his appetite for home made foods. Best wishes.

From your information looks like his height and weight are reasonable. Regarding him having rickets in the past, I think we need to re visit that issue and check his vit D again with calcium and phosphorus levels. Also complete hemogram to check his Hemoglobin and Iron levels. He needs thorough examination from his pediatrician to look at other perspectives of development. Hope this helps.
