Hi, I suffer from keratosis pilaris since childhood. Suggest me a body lotion or cream to reduce it present in India. Or any other medications? Currently I do not use any medications.

Hi Dry skin is a strong predisposing factor for keratosis pilaris. If dryness is taken care of, progression can be managed to a great extent. I usually advise my patients to put lots of good moisturisers over the body preferably semi wet body after bath. By making your skin naturally hydrated by drinking plenty of water, applying moisturisers regularly will help in reducing keratosis pilaris but will not cure it completely. You would have to take treatment for that. I usually advise my patients to apply topical retinoid cream over the lesions in night time for few weeks this helps in their removal Alternative also very effective method of treatment is chemical peels done by an expert dermatologist.
