Hi I have hypothyroid in my pregnancy I used electroxin 25 mg throughout pregnancy and after delivery 15 day's after stop mediation 6 weeks again go through TSH test in that t3 t4 and TSH 0.02 I have swelling in my thyroid and I have has voice also I am go to my Dr. she sad wait for 6 weeks again go with test after that will move on is this right I am so scared.

During pregnancy if there is development of hashimoto's Thyroiditis (HT), leading to hypothyroidism then post pregnancy there is a possibility of developing post pregnancy thyroiditis (PPT). This disease manifests initially as hyperthyroidism for first few weeks to months. During which there is higher level of T4 and low TSH causing all the symptoms of hyperthyroidism. Later (after a few weeks to months) it regresses and TSH level goes up causing hypothyroidism. So you may have to wait even longer to see if there is a change in the TSh level. Then you may need again treatment with levothyroxine. Thanks.
