Hi, My sister's son is in CBSE 12th and has not prepared well. Whenever talk about maths he is depressed and do not want to talk about it and he is imagining about not passing exams and causes more depression. Psychiatric Dr. gave lexipram 10 mg & Clonax 0.25 mg for 15 days. Now depression is less but could not prepare due to more hours of sleep. Can he stop tablets, will it cause any side effects if stopped, any suggestions to have no depression & be awake for exam preparations.

Plz refrain yourself from stopping medication on your own as there might be some withdrawal effect. Ask the doctor to reduce the medication. Secondly, don't pressurize the child to get good marks. check his method of studying. guide him to write and learn. if you can see a counselor in person it would be better. or you may take my help here on Lybrate.
