I am suffering from hypothyroidism. And I am working out daily to shed my weight. Can I have cinnamon in my diet? Does it effect thyroid levels or is it safe to use?

Lybrate-user, Thanks for the query. You can have cinnamon in your diet. It has no effect on hypothyroidism or thyroid function. Since there is no mention of TSH level, I can not comment whether your hypothyroidism is in proper control or not. When on treatment with adequate dosage of thyroxine TSH is usually maintained around 3 to 4 mU/L, at that level all the symptoms are in check. Then the efforts to reduce weight also do help. Thanks.
