HI am 22 year old, I have pain in my knees, whenever I walk continuously fr more than 5 min I start feeling pain in my knee, it becomes very heavy later, unable to handle my own weight's pressure on that knee, feels like it will break if I dont release the pressure and sometimes the pain is like a lightening .just i m underweight, I weigh 42 kg n I stand 5.2 inches tall. My doc has given me some vit tablet n also rexonac gel But I am still facing the same issue Hope you can help.

Dear Lybrate user Please consult an Ortho doctor. You might be weak. You will need to take calcium rich foods such as milk curd paneer. Take high protein foods such as whole pulses dhals. If you are non vegetarian take egg fish and chicken. Stay under the sunlight without sun screen for at least 15 to 20 minutes there times a week. It should be between 10 am and 12 noon.

Hi. I have seen your msg. Have you undergone any vitamin d test. If you have then what is the result of your vitamin D.you can start some knee strengthening exercise .start with light exercise without weight. Once the pain reduce you can start with some resistance exercise with the help of good physiotherapist doctor. U can do contrast bath that is apply cold and hot bag alternately for 20 min. Apply hot bag for 10 min and then give a gap for 5 min and then apply 10 min cold pack. You can even use knee cap while walking. See a good physiotherapist.
