A colloid nodule formed at the left lobe of thyroid of my wife. Is surgery needed for that or can be cured by medicine. Her thyroid level are in normal range. No malignancy in fnac report.

Mr. lybrate-user, Thanks for the query. Usually the nodules of thyroid do not regress with any medication. If the nodule is small, with no symptoms then surgery may not be required. However, if it is causing any pressure symptoms, change in voice or breating difficulty, then surgery is the only remedy. Regular ultrasonography is necessary to see if there are any changes. Thanks.
