Hi, I am 27 years old. One month back I've started to feel pain in my anus when I do my bowel movement. I've consulted with one doctor and feels better now. My only concern is my weight loss. Before one month my weight was 65 kg, but now it's just around 61.7 to 62.3 kgs. When I surfed through Internet I got fear of having colon cancer or even HIV. I don't drink, smoke. Please advise me on this.

Pain around the anus could be due to multiple causes including fissure, fistula, thrombosis external piles or pinworm infection or rarely anal or lower rectal cancer. Cancer can also lead to tenesmus. Bleeding could be a sign of piles, fissure or cancer. You need to see a general surgeon or a colorectal Surgeon. They would do a PerRectal examination and SOS proctoscopy. They may ask for colonoscopy too, which needs a bowel preparation. HIV can be transmitted through unprotected sexual intercourse with multiple partners, blood transfusion or vertical from mother to child. Weight loss is a late symptom in HIV. You may consult any government hospital, where they do blood testing for HIV at minimal charges or free of cost. I hope I was able to solve your query. You are welcome to contact me directly if you have any more doubts.
