I am 31 year old woman and recently got diagnosed with diabetes and hypothyroidism. My fasting sugar was 129 and pp 170. Hba1c 7.7. Tsh 19. I am taking prescribed 75 mg thyroid pill and glycomet 1gm sr. Also following diet advised by dietitian. My father have diabetes. He was diagnosed with it when he was around 55. He is taking glynase mf. I wants to ask if is it possible for me to reverse the condition? I do not want to be on medication as I have long way to go. I was recently faced with high emotional stress. Now I am ok emotionally.

lybrate-user ji, Thanks for the query. Diabetes is a condition occuring due to either deficiency of Insulin or resistance to its action due to fat and high glucose. Plus being overweight and being inactive adds to the problem. Reducing the weight and strictly following a proper diet, doing regular exercise can definitely help in better control But drug therapy is almost always needed.
