Hi am 40 years old female. I have thyroid and I take 75 mcg tablet every morning. My concern is can I take nature's bounty tablets for hair, skin and nails which contains biotin?

lybrate-user ji, Thanks for the query. Hypothyroidism if not well controlled does lead to hair dryness and loss. Plus after bringing the condition in good control, it takes quite some days to weeks for hair loss to stop. When one is on adequate dosage of Levothyroxine, TSH is brought in the range of 3 to 4 mU/L, at which all the symptoms are in check. Whether Biotin really has any beneficial effect is not very clear. But if you want to have those tablets then can do so. Thanks.
