Hi doctor, I have normal ulcer in mouth so one Dr. advice me to take ferrous fumarate+ folic acid tab, now after one day I found my stool become dark green. It is harmful or normal? I have no any pain in stomach or vomititon.

Because of iron containing medication it happend. After stopping that it will be normal.

Iron must have made the stool colour change. Not harmul. But have B complex Vitamins and Folic acid. Iron is not required for ulcers.

Change in color of stool is definitely due to iron supplement given to you, but iron deficiency doesn't manifest as ulcers in mouth. Doctor might have noticed yellow tinge in your tongue to prescribe iron supplements. Anyways don't worry about it. Get well soon:)

Stool is dark because of iron supplements given to you. Iron is usually given in case the patient is anaemic, in other words with less HB. If this is the case keep having. The stool colour will come to normal once you stop iron supplements i.e. Ferrous sulphate. Foilic acid is for ulcers.
