My father, 81 yrs, has COPD. He had taken pneumovax inj 5 years back and is again due this year. Should he take (a) pneumovax Inj only, OR, (b) should he first take Prevnar 13 followed by (after 6 months) pneumovax inj. Any risk associated with method (b)?

You should consult a pulmonologist and then he will suggest you what to do. Serious conditions like these should not be treated by random suggestion.
