Hi. My 15 year old child was diagnosed with depression and anxiety 5 months back. He has been on daxid 25 mg since then. He has also been going for therapy alongside. The therapist has terminated his therapy 2 months back saying now he only needs to go whenever he feels the need. In these 2 months he asked for one session when he feeling stressed before her exams. For daxid medicine, it was recommended we complete 6 months of the medication before stopping it. This will be done by next month. My question is what is the best way to stop the medication and what are the chances and signs of relapse if any that one needs to watch out for. What is the usual success rate of this medication in this age group and can we hope for a high chance of not needing to go back to medication in future?
