My Dad's right carotid doppler study shows- IMT-0.9 mm thickened, bifurcation soft plaque (5x2 mm) Left carotid artery shows IMT -0.6 mm thickened, calcified plaque (3x1 mm) Diagnosed: hypertensive heart disease with right carotid plaque with TIA with BPH. Kindly suggest what to do.

Hi, the treatment for carotid artery insufficiency depends on the symptoms. Please get a CT angiogram of the neck vessels and consult a Vascular Surgeon. After clinical examination and the angiogram reports, the treatment can be planned. Regarding BPH, urologist is the best to consult. Take care.
