My father is 66 years old, having kidney stones in both kidneys 4 mm and 5 mm in right and left kidney respectively. Few months age has was having stone in only right kidney, that was washed out by taking medicines. Now this time both tha kidneys are involved and moderate pain on both side. What precautions should b taken against formation of stone repeatedly.

Best advice is don't restrict on any food but drink plenty of fluid daily around 4-5 litres daily. These are small stones they should pass out. If he still continue to have pain get plain CT scan of abdomen because there are sometimes small stones in kidney pipe which are missed on USG.
