I'm 25 year old male. Last month I checked my bp. It is high 150/90. My Dr. did all the investigation. Nothing abnormal found. He prescribed me telma 20 od. I take the tablets for one month. Now is it possible to stop this medication or I need to take it lifelong? I do not have any complaints now.

Hi lybrate-user, avoid smoking/ alcohol (if you consume), exercise regularly, drink plenty of water, less fast food, 6-8 hours of sound sleep. If any anxiety or stress reduce that. With all this keep monitoring your blood pressure, you can can definitely stop your medication. Try any AYUSH treatment.

You may stop it. Measure BP only once every month on fixed date after resting for ten minutes. Avoid measuring at other times. You may require medicines later if it is always above 140. Reduce alcohol sugar and jaggery. Balanced diet is healthier than restricted diet.
